present

A friend posted this gorgeous print recently and I don't think I've ever seen such a beautifully designed reminder to live in the moment!  I really want to enjoy my last few weeks days as an official Manhattan resident while soaking up all the time I can with our amazing friends.  Living in the present rather than worrying about all of the items on my ever growing to-do list is something I need to remind myself of daily!

You can pick up a copy of the print by clicking right here and visiting the Gem Goode shop on etsy.

Aspen dreaming

Now that the move is official I can't stop thinking about adding a few rustic accessories to the mix in our new place.  Overall I'll keep things nice and bright using warm white paint colors on the walls and trim, paired with rich wood floors.  Then I'll layer in color and texture through accessories.  Here are the pieces I've been dreaming about!

Wonk

I can't praise Wonk furniture in Brooklyn's Clinton Hill neighborhood enough.  I heard about their shop years ago but never made it out to see their work in person.  I was in desperate need for storage for my art supplies and Andrew's office supplies so we decided to take a trip out to see them.

We ended up ordering two of their Sutter drawers in a slightly larger size 23" size.  Their custom options are endless so you can find the perfect fit for your space and everything is well made locally in their Brooklyn wood shop.

I'm really excited about how versatile these chests are.  For now they're sitting behind the sofa but I can certainly see them as future nightstands or on a base in an entry way as well.  I decided to forgo the finger holes so I could add interesting knobs and change them out as I please.  We stuck with the white frame color and found the perfect beige called Baltic Gray for the drawer fronts.  The ring pulls are from my favorite hardware source Whitechapel.

Not only were the cabinets ready a few days early (amazing!), the people at Wonk were incredibly easy to work with.

office project before and after!

I just had the Madison Avenue dental office I designed last summer photographed and I couldn't be happier with the outcome!  The office now has a great flow to it and the space feels open, clean and fresh!

JEM!

JEM Fabric Warehouse on Broadway just south of Canal is my new go to for small inexpensive fabric projects around the apartment.  Their lower level is filled with interesting upholstery fabrics and fantastic remnants.  While I love spending a day shopping at the D&D showrooms uptown for large projects, JEM has become the perfect place for me to pop in when I need something quick.

I had just pulled this gorgeous blue silk pattern from Stark to show a client a few days ago.  While digging around in JEM I found a leftover 2+ yard piece and I was thrilled when they gave to me to for $12!  Major score!

This place certainly takes some time and patience and time to dig around, but it's definitely worth the trip!
